Crackle and Pop: Dance for Everyone!

Crackle and Pop is a dance for everyone to join in where you'll stretch your winter bones and crackle with the warmth and energy of the circle. Led by dancer Arwyn Carpenter, you’ll learn simple dance steps performed as a group in a circle, follow-the-leader pathways, line formations and travelling sequences, to the beautiful folk melodies of Ensemble Polaris' Midnight Sun. Whimsical animal creatures will appear to guide and dance along on the wide open front lawn of Macaulay House.

Martha’s Insta-Comic Book Workshop

Write and illustrate your own mini-comic book in this drop-in workshop using the graphic arts techniques of character design, framing, lettering, and inking. Invent a character, improvise a story, draw a series of pictures, and there you have an instant comic book! Finished artwork is suitable for photocopy reproduction to share or trade with friends. No drawing experience necessary. Open to ages 7 and up, adults encouraged to participate, accessible to any level of drawing skills. Join Julianne Snepsts and Lenny Epstein from Taste That! for a fun and family-friendly improv workshop in Macaulay Church. In this one-hour workshop, you'll get on your feet to explore some of the basics of improv comedy in a friendly, judgement-free environment. No experience necessary to try these exercises and games. Recommended for kiddos 7+ with adult accompaniment or 12+ without an adult. Come warm up with a laugh!

Opening address from Mohawk Elder David Jock (Wenhniseriio) He Brings a Nice Day. David is Bear Clan from Ahkwesasne and currently lives in Tyendinaga where he works as an Elder Advisor for First Nations Technical Institute.
