ICE BOX returns February 1 to 9, 2020!
Winter’s coolest public art event is brought to you by The Department of Illumination, the artists behind Prince Edward County's much-loved Firelight Lantern Festival, and is presented in partnership with Macaulay Heritage Park.
ICE BOX takes place on the grounds of historic Macaulay House in Picton, Ontario, Canada. At the centre of the event are five ice boxes, colourful wooden huts, each transformed into an interactive art installation led by local artists in collaboration with community members of all ages. The site of ICE BOX is a festive gathering place that over the course of two weekends becomes a hive of activity, including dancing, live music, storytelling and even a community procession! During the week ICE BOX hosts school visits, giving hundreds of children the chance to experience both art and winter like never before.
